SINGAPORE: Eleven Sports Network has appointed Shalu Wasu as its new managing director for Singapore, effective immediately.

Wasu will work under Danny Menken, group managing director. He is taking over for outgoing Asia managing director Joyee Biswas, who is leaving to pursue other opportunities. Simone Kang, the channel’s general manager for Taiwan, will now also report directly to Menken.

Previously, Wasu served as managing director at Circus Social, a social data analytics company he co-founded in 2012. Earlier in his career, he held a variety of senior positions across the IT, education, services, consumer electronics, advertising and data analytics industries.

“Shalu will help drive Eleven forward with a key focus on further expanding our subscriber base and engaging with more sports fans in Singapore,” said Menken. “We believe Shalu’s experience will help ensure the network remains at the forefront of the sports media landscape, and we are delighted to welcome him to the team.”

“I am extremely excited to take on such an interesting role in a dynamic and fast-moving network,” added Wasu. “Eleven has made remarkable progress in Singapore since its launch last year, and I am delighted to be joining such a talented team. I look forward to helping the network grow even further in Singapore.”
