NEW YORK: A+E Networks is enlarging its footprint in Japan with the launch of the Crime + Investigation (CI) brand and titles on Hulu.

Starting today, CI’s content is available to Japanese viewers for the first time, with such long-running series as The First 48 and global ratings hits 60 Days In and My Ghost Story. These series and other programs from the C+I library will be part of a progressive rollout.

This latest move builds on A+E Network’s existing partnership with Hulu in Japan, which debuted History Japan last year.

“We are thrilled to be building on our partnership with HJ Holdings following the successful launch of History in Japan,” said Edward Sabin, the executive managing director of international at A+E Networks. “Hulu is a proven platform that is ideal to attract a significant audience for CI’s rich library of groundbreaking programming that has resonated with tens of millions around the globe.

“We believe that the audience profile on Hulu in Japan is ideal to fuel the same deep interest in real-life crime that creates a passionate C+I viewer. We anticipate success on Hulu and look forward to establishing a steady pipeline of quality content to the platform.”

“We look forward to providing the Crime + Investigation titles on Hulu for the first time in Japan by expanding our partnership with A+E Networks,” added Hiroyuki Oho, the managing director of HJ Holdings.
