Some 200 hours of BBC drama, including the latest seasons of Doctor Who and Luther, are headed to the Taiwanese OTT operator myVideo.

BBC Studios announced its first agreement with the Taiwanese platform, owned by Taiwan Mobile, at the Asia Video Summit in Hong Kong. The shows will be featured in a BBC-branded area.

“We have seen increasing interest in premium British dramas in Taiwan, and are very pleased to be working with myVideo to deliver quality British drama to meet this demand,” commented Kelvin Yau, senior VP and general manager of Greater China at BBC Studios. “We are confident that the programs will be well received by myVideo’s subscribers.”

“This is the first time we are offering premium British drama on our service,” said Daphne Lee, VP of new media service business at Taiwan Mobile. “We are always looking out for new content to entertain our subscribers and we are very excited to share with our Taiwanese subscribers these award-winning and highly rated dramas from BBC Studios.”
