SPI International/FilmBox is rolling out its DocuBox HD channel on TOYA in Poland and has also re-upped its agreement with FilmOn TV, adding a gaming and e-Sports channel to the bundle.

DocuBox HD features internationally renowned programs such as the Imax productions Africa the Serengeti, Antarctica, Australia and Bears, along with The Mythical Roads and Humanima series, which explores men and women who have forged a unique bond with wildlife and nature.

“We are happy to extend and diversify our current premium channel lineup with TOYA,” commented Tamás Fülöp, SPI/FilmBox’s operation director for CEE countries. “With DocuBox HD, SPI brings the value of the documentary back to the viewers. We are dedicated to being a documentary channel without reality shows and docudrama formats.”

In addition, as part of the SPI’s renewed deal, FilmOn TV, part of the FOTV/Hologram USA group of companies, will continue to carry several international thematic channels from SPI’s portfolio, including FightBox HD, DocuBox HD, FashionBox HD, Fast&FunBox HD and 360TuneBox. The bundle of channels carried by FilmOn TV will also include Gametoon, a worldwide entertainment channel for millennials that revolves around gaming and e-Sports. The channel gives viewers the opportunity to play games on their mobile devices and share scores along with avatars on-air. Gametoon features game reviews, e-Sports tournaments, viral content and more.

“We are very pleased to continue our relationship with FilmOn TV Networks,” said Stacey Sobel, SPI International’s executive VP. “FilmOn Live TV makes it possible for our channels to gain new digital viewers.”

“SPI/FilmBox is a recognized leader in supplying top-quality international movies and television,” said Kim Hurwitz, the chief content officer of FOTV Media. “The channels have been favorites of our discerning audience, and we’re excited to add the e-Sports channel Gametoon to the mix.”
