WARSAW: SPI International/FilmBox Channels Group has expanded its Ultra HD offering with the acquisition of new music and time-lapse content from Paramax Films and Principal Media.

SPI acquired rights from Paramax Films for three 4K recordings of live concerts performed at the Singapore Jazz Festival. One of the concerts features multi-instrumentalist, producer and singer Taylor McFerrin. The other two concerts feature performances by Toronto-based jazz/hip-hop trio BadBadNotGood and Seun Kuti.

SPI also inked a deal with Principal Media to secure worldwide rights for 4K videos shot by time-lapse expert Randy Halverson. Captured over an eight-month period, the videos offer a unique look at the night sky in South Dakota, Wyoming and Utah.

The acquisitions boost the content offering for SPI International/FilmBox Channels Group’s linear channel FunBox UHD, as well as a stand-alone streaming app that provides users with access to a range of native UHD content on streaming devices such as Amazon Fire TV.
