Of all the new programs that debuted around the world in January, MTV Latinoamérica’s MTV diary: Lali generated the most buzz on social media, according to The WIT.

With around 124,000 Facebook and Twitter comments during the premiere episode, MTV diary: Lali ranks first in the list of the top ten most-buzzed-about new shows in social media. The reality series follows Argentinean pop star Lali Espósito as she embarks on her latest international tour and prepares for the major Luna Park two-part concert in Buenos Aires. The #MemesGenerator stirred up a lot of buzz, and there was much #Fangasm with the #BackstageAccess.

TV Globo in Brazil debuted Deus salve o Rei, which saw some 86,000 tweets. The period telenovela takes place in a fictional medieval kingdom, where two royal families live in peace despite their historical rivalry. However, the decisions of their monarchs will change the course of history. The #GameOfThronesVibes of the #SuperProduction helped to make it an #InstantHit with viewers tweeting about the show.

The premiere of Black Lightning on The CW in the U.S. stirred up around 84,000 social-media comments. With a daughter hell-bent on justice and a star student being recruited by a local gang, Jefferson Pierce will be pulled back into the fight as the wanted vigilante and DC legend Black Lightning. Viewers tweeting about the #ActionPacked episode were #HookedByTheOpeningScene and gave #KudosToTheBlackCast.

The launch of 90 Special on Italy’s Italia 1 delivered around 52,000 tweets. The live entertainment show celebrates the ’90s, featuring music, movies, TV shows, objects and fashions that marked this decade, along with famous guests. Fans were feeling the #Nostalgia with the #90sSingAlongParty, though some viewers pointed out the #TechnicalFlaws and #SnoozefestActs.

Around 51,000 comments went out surrounding the debut of grown-ish on Freeform in the U.S. The spin-off of ABC’s black-ish follows the Johnsons’ eldest daughter, Zoey, as she heads off to college and quickly discovers that not everything goes her way once she leaves the nest. There was much #KudosToTheLeadActress happening on social media, where many were commenting about the #FunnyAndFresh, #AuthenticStory.

The debut of The Four: Battle for Stardom on FOX in the U.S. saw around 50,000 tweets. In the local adaptation of Armoza Formats’ singing competition The Final Four, four superstar-quality finalists are chosen in the very first episode. Every week talented hopefuls try to steal a seat from one of the final four. There were #MixedFeelings about the show, with some viewers saying it was #Entertaining while others were disappointed by the #RudeJudges and #AverageContestants.

ATV in Turkey launched Sen Anlat Karadeniz, and some 45,000 comments accompanied the debut. The romantic series tells the story of a woman who manages to escape from the man to whom she has been promised for years. She hides in the Black Sea region with the help of a man whose family does not approve of the situation. The internet was buzzing with fans who had found their #NewFavorite and #LoveTahirCharacter and the #BlackSeaLandscapes as well as the theme of #Justice.

There were some 38,000 Facebook and Twitter comments about the premiere of The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story on FX in the U.S. The second installment of the American Crime Story anthology series focuses on the 1997 murder of fashion designer Gianni Versace by serial killer Andrew Cunanan. Comments gave kudos to the #HighProductionValues and #TopNotchActing in the #Intense opening episode.

TVP2 in Poland debuted The Voice Kids, a local adaptation of the talent-search format featuring contestants aged 8 to 15, to around 30,000 tweets. The #PowerfulActs from the #FutureStars had the audience engaged: #RootingForMyFavContestant.

Destination Eurovision on France 2 saw around 26,000 tweets. The singing contest follows as 18 selected artists compete in two semi-finals and one final to represent France at the next Eurovision Song Contest. Viewers were annoyed that there was #TooManyForeignSongs but gave #KudosToLisandro and still thought it was overall a #FunWatch.
