LONDON: Sly Fox Productions and Acorn Media Enterprises have inked a first-look deal with the comedy writers Paul Mendelson and Paul Alexander.

Alexander and Mendelson first worked together on the long-running BBC sitcom My Hero and have been regular collaborators ever since. They co-created DreamWorks Animation’s Neighbors from Hell, which ran on TBS in the U.S. and starred Steve Coogan as Satan.

Sly Fox Productions was co-founded in 2014 by Linda James and Tim Vaughan in collaboration with Acorn Media Enterprises, the production and co-financing arm of RLJ Entertainment.

Vaughan said, “The opportunities in scripted comedy are considerable, provided you have access to the writing talent. We are thrilled to be able to forge this relationship with two immense comedy talents who have more than proven their worth in both the U.K. and the U.S.”

Shane Murphy, the managing director of Acorn Media Enterprises, added, “We’re delighted that Linda, Tim and Savannah have clasped the Pauls to their bosom. Their production track records aside, relationships with talent like this are what attracted us to them in the first place. We’re confident that this partnership will provide us with fantastic scripted shows for Acorn TV, our SVOD service, and RLJE International, our global distribution business.”
