TORONTO: There is a mix of factual and kids’ programming being offered to the international market from Portfolio Entertainment, with the slate being led by the preschool show Doki.

Doki, produced and distributed by Portfolio, is a 26×30-minute series originally commissioned by Discovery Kids in January 2012. The show revolves around the Doki character that was introduced by the network through a series of interstitials and idents. “It isn’t every day you find a character that is so loved by kids without already having its own television show,” said Joy Rosen, Portfolio Entertainment’s co-president and founder. “But Doki is just that, and we’re excited to be introducing him to children all over the world in his very own animated series.”

Also on the slate is The Cat in the Hat Know A Lot About Christmas! and The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That!

On the factual end, You Gotta Eat Here has already sold widely across Europe and Asia. Season two will be featured at MIPTV, and a third season and a one-hour special have been greenlit. “You Gotta Eat Here has been hugely popular globally, added Rosen. “The show’s host comedian John Catucci has an infectious humor and viewers love the spicy behind-the-scenes glimpses of famous restaurants. The series brings something fresh to the table.”
