BUDAPEST: Chinese company China Broadcasting Media (CBM) has entered into a strategic partnership agreement with the Hungarian outfit Cinework Studio.

As part of the arrangement, the two companies will use Cinework Studio’s screen acting school (Go To Casting) to develop voice actor, dubbing director and script translator courses, as well as relevant research. The aim is to build up the foundation for the dubbing of Chinese films and TV in Hungary. Cinework Studio will also assist CBM in developing its business in Hungary and Eastern Europe.

The two outfits will further work together to boost the exchange of films and TV programs between China and Hungary by recommending local films and TV output to each other, in addition to helping one another with distribution in the target market. The companies also plan to jointly direct and film a documentary, spotlighting the lives of young Chinese people in Hungary and China. They will also choose appropriate material or screenplays to produce a film in cooperation with a local production company.

The pact was officiated at NATPE Budapest, where J.P. Bommel, the managing director and COO of NATPE, attended the signing ceremony.
