NBC Universal Bolsters Interactive Team

NEW YORK, August 8: NBC Universal has expanded its
interactive television team, hiring Dan Berkowitz as manager of iTV product
development, and Alexandra Morrison as producer of iTV product development.

Both executives report to Jon Dakss, the director of iTV
product development. Dakss’ division plans to add another member to its West
Coast team later this year.

"As digital technologies become more widely used in the
home, it is not uncommon for viewers to be online and/or using their cell
phones while simultaneously watching TV,” said Darren Feher, the EVP and chief
technology officer at NBC Universal. “Recognizing the changing habits of
television viewers, NBCU has increased its focus on interactive television, and
the audience has responded in record numbers. The expansion of our team with Dan
and Alex, two iTV specialists, will be a tremendous advantage as we continue to
grow this business."

Berkowitz will work on product development across all
divisions, including entertainment, sports and news, and will also be
responsible for leading NBCU's iTV standards initiatives. He joins NBC from
Disney/ABC's Enhanced TV Group.

Morrison will work on several interactive television
initiatives, including producing content for a one-screen iTV application for
NBC’s Last Comic Standing, and interactive
text messaging campaigns around Bravo and USA Network programming. She has had
two internships with NBCU's technology group.

NBC Universal has been rolling out interactive applications
for Last Comic Standing and America's
Got Talent
, among others.
