Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (SPHE) has entered into a multiyear deal for the distribution of Lionsgate’s slate of TV programming.

The agreement gives SPHE the worldwide distribution rights outside the U.S., U.K. and Canada (subject to rights availability) for current series and catalog titles from Lionsgate. This includes Orange Is the New Black, Nashville, Mad Men, Nurse Jackie and many others. Lionsgate will continue to self-distribute its television properties on digital home-entertainment platforms.

“We are delighted to extend our relationship with Lionsgate to bring their premium TV slate to international home entertainment audiences,” said SPHE’s president, Man Jit Singh. “This deal demonstrates SPHE’s continuing drive to expand our global distribution business by working with the very best content creators.”

“We’re pleased to team with a single packaged media distributor to bring our television portfolio to a global audience, resulting in greater operational efficiency, enhanced visibility and increased sales input,” said Lionsgate’s president of home entertainment, Ron Schwartz. “Sony’s global expertise is unparalleled, and we’re proud to bring them a tremendous library and our strongest and deepest pipeline of current television series ever.”
