Maurice Boucher, the director of marketing and communications at the Canada Media Fund (CMF), has passed away.

Valerie Creighton, CMF’s president and CEO, expressed sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.

“An experienced marketing and communications professional, Maurice joined the CMF team in 2012 to lead our corporate communications, promotional strategies, government and public relations,” she said. “Maurice was instrumental in developing strategies to elevate the profile of Canadian content and promote the various CMF programs and initiatives with stakeholders. He was very proud of the development of Eye on Canada and the great success of Encore+ and in particular, relished positioning Canadian stories and talent around the world.

“An elegant and consummate professional, Maurice was a valued member of the CMF family. He was respected and admired by his team and industry colleagues both here at home and internationally. We will miss his steady hand and ironic humor, which got us through many ups and downs during his all-too-brief time with us.

“Au revoir, Maurice and travel well… We will miss you.”
