LONDON: The stars of the hit show Hot in Cleveland—Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick—will be attending MIPCOM as guests of Endemol Worldwide Distribution.

The show launched in June in the U.S. of TV Land and has become an international hit. The series also stars TV icon Betty White. The story follows three best friends from L.A. whose lives are changed forever when their plane makes an unexpected landing in Cleveland and the trio decides to make it their new home. Bertinelli is best known for One Day at a Time, Levees was in Frasier and Malick starred in Just Shoot Me

“The last time I was in Cannes was while I lived in Paris as a model," said Malick. I am sure that I speak for Valerie and Jane to say that we are thrilled to be coming to share this wonderful show with our international friends.”

Eddie Dalva, the senior VP of content at MTV Entertainment Group, commented: “TV Land is delighted that the series has not only been successful in the US but has also struck a chord in both Canada and Australia. Valerie, Jane and Wendie have amazing global appeal and we look forward to giving the MIPCOM attendees an opportunity to experience their fantastic chemistry, first-hand.”

Cathy Payne, the CEO of Endemol Worldwide Distribution, added: “Hot in Cleveland has all the makings of a worldwide smash hit comedy series. It has a brilliantly written script with a magnificent cast playing fabulous characters. We expect to announce commissions in more major markets before we even get to MIPCOM and we are extremely excited and proud to have three of the show’s leading ladies joining us in Cannes.”
