TV SHOW: An animated (computer 2-D, flash) 52×11-minute series for a preschool audience. Ben & Hollys Little Kingdom is set in the Little Kingdom, a tiny land of elves, fairies, small animals and insects, where flowers and grass rise above the tallest towers. Its main characters are Princess Holly, a young fairy who is still learning how to do magic properly and sometimes her spells don’t work out quite right, and Ben, an elf who is her best friend. Elves don’t do magic, but they’re very good at making thingsespecially toys. 


MAIN BROADCASTER: Nick Jr. in the U.K.


TV SALES: The show has been sold into more than 150 territories worldwide.


MAJOR TOY LICENSEES: Golden Bear has been named as master toy licensee. 


OTHER PRODUCTS: E1 Entertainment is the DVD licensee. Redan is licensed for magazine content (Ben & Hollys Little Kingdom is already making regular appearances in Fun To Learn Friends and Fun To Learn Favourites). Penguin is the publishing licensee and is planning a series of books; these will hit the shelves from early next year. Cooneen and Misirli have been licensed to supply nightwear, underwear and socks, Cohen and Wilkes to supply outerwear and Character World to supply bedding. Jumbo is the licensee for puzzles and games. Further license announcements related to other categories are expected in the coming months. 


STRATEGY FOR ROLLOUT: The shows initial launch was on Nick Jr. in the U.K. on April 6 this year. Other launches will follow. The launch across retail is planned for mid-2010. The main target market is expected to be girls and boys aged 3 to 7.
