BBC Worldwide Titles Head to SPI International’s FilmBox Channels

WARSAW: SPI International has acquired television and VOD rights for BBC Worldwide titles such as Doctor Who and War and Peace for its FilmBox channels.

The titles, along with an array of other series and films, will air on the pay-TV operator’s FilmBox brand of channels across Central and Eastern Europe, Turkey, Africa and the Middle East. SPI International picked up rights to the historical drama Wolf Hall, the six-parter War and Peace, Miss Marple, Jekyll, the first three seasons of the Sherlock series and the ninth season of Doctor Who for Poland, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Albania, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Slovenia, Kosovo and Montenegro.

Additionally, SPI International has acquired rights to air BBC content on the FilmBox Africa movie channel, which is carried by multiple digital platforms and cable networks in Africa and the Middle East. Among the titles secured for these territories are the TV movie An Inspector Calls, Sally Lockheart Mysteries, several seasons of Doctor Who and the first season of The Musketeers.
