Banff to Recognize NBCU as 2018 Company of Distinction

The Banff World Media Festival is set to honor NBCUniversal as the Company of Distinction at this year’s festival.

NBCUniversal will be a focal point during the festival’s four-day program—from June 10 to 13—and receive the Company of Distinction award at the Rockie Awards Gala on June 12. Past recipients of this award include CBS Corporation, Lionsgate Entertainment, A+E Networks, HBO and the Disney-ABC Television Group.

John Morayniss, chairman of the Banff Foundation Board of Directors and co-president of film, television and digital at Entertainment One, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate NBCUniversal as the 2018 Company of Distinction. Year after year, they continue to lead the way with innovative and creative programming for audiences around the world. On behalf of everyone at the Banff World Media Festival, it gives us great pleasure to honor them with this well-deserved recognition and we are looking forward to shining a spotlight on them and the brilliant work they do across all of their platforms.”

“We are grateful for this prestigious honor and for the opportunity to showcase the breadth of our world-class portfolio to a global audience in the beautiful setting of Banff,” commented Kevin MacLellan, the chairman of global distribution and international at NBCUniversal.
